Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle

There is no question that Tom Venuto is an expert in his field and that Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle is one of the most complete weight loss manuals currently available. In addition to providing full nutritional suggestions, BFFM also contains workouts designed for any number of body types. Most importantly, the workouts are supposed to be simple enough that you can complete them in your own home (although weight-lifting might get tricky if space is limited).

In addition to the lengthy Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle manual, this package also includes a number of bonus offers, like Foods that Burn Fat, Foods that Turn to Fat, and The A & B Food Lecture. Your purchase of Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle allows you access to free updates as well as access to the members-only forum and Weekly Fat Loss Tips E-zine for an entire year. Finally, your purchase also allows you access to the e-book, How to Measure your Body Fat, which ensures that you can track your fat loss as you continue to lose weight.

While there are a number of experts in the dieting field who claim you can’t determine whether you lose fat specifically, there is no question that Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle’s popularity stems from its ability to create a healthier person. Although there are certainly negative reviews from dieters who weren’t able to stick to this regimented program, there’s no question that if you stick to this program, Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle will show results.

Detailed Ratings

Pros
• Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle is a complete manual, spanning nearly 340 pages.
• The BFFM manual is extremely detailed, focusing extensively on the mental aspects of weight loss and fat burning as well as tips for a variety of different body types.
• This program focuses on BMI (body mass index), measuring your overall body fat, which is more individually focused than a height and weight chart.
• Rather than giving you a list of foods you have to eat, BFFM outlines a basic formula for caloric intake and meals per day (a higher number than you may be used to), which gives you the freedom to choose the right foods.
• Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle provides you with a list of positive vs. negative choices, so you have a better idea what kinds of foods you should eat for each category.
• BFFM pairs aerobic exercise and weight lifting with a healthy diet as the best way to shed fat.
• The exercise and weight-lifting portions include a number of FAQ that can help you workout from home without requiring an expensive gym membership.
• Suggested workouts range from basic to advanced, so people at any fitness level can still use BFFM to improve their fat burning and muscle toning. This is not a crash-course diet that you will toss after a few months or even a year.
Cons
• While the lengthy manual has a number of positive characteristics and details, it is extremely long, which may prove to be overwhelming for anyone not wholly committed to weight loss.
• With entire sections like “What if it’s not working,” this is definitely a long-term commitment rather than a short-term “diet” plan.
• If you follow the BFFM manual, you will have to carefully watch your food intake, since it requires specific combinations of proteins, carbohydrates. The manual requires you to weigh your food as well, requiring a large commitment to food vigilance.
• If you live in a small apartment or your space is limited, lifting weights on a regular basis will require a gym membership.
