Steve's course is a bit pricy, but worth it!, May 19, 2008 Reviewer: Stephanie from Iowa

This course is great, but very pricy.. I bought "How to Play Guitar: Everything You Need to Know to Play the Guitar" by Roger Evans for $10 on Amazon. It taught me how to string, tune, hold my guitar, play chords, and finger pick. Talk about getting your money's worth! The problem was that I was only getting so far with the book. When I went to play with some friends they notice I was developing some bad habits and putting them in my muscle memory. A tutor was way too expensive so I started looking online for guitar training dvds and found learn and master guitar. It looked perfect for me, but at $200 it better be good and last me a LONG LONG time! So far I'm up to session 5 and am finding out just how hard it is to break bad habits.. If you are thinking about learning form a book vs a dvd or tutor - think about it very hard. I would personally go with a tutor if I could afford it - but so far this course is proving to be worth it!

After having played for 4 years on my own and taken several lessons from a private tutor, I wanted to take my music to the next level. Against my room mates advice I bought learn and master by steve krenz. After running through half the course in a few weeks, it is obvious that this course is not for people in the expert or professional level.
Although it would be a great course for beginners and intermediate players, it seems to be a bit too fundamental for me. Don't get me wrong, steve's course rocks, it just was not for me. A bit of advice for those of you looking at this - DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU ARE AN EXPERT GUITAR PLAYER! You are better off getting some personal lessons from a more skilled player than yourself.
